Ingredients:

  • Cabbage – 1 cup, finely chopped
  • Onion – handful, coarsely crushed
  • Coconut grated – 1/2 cup
  • Green chilly – 3 no’s, crushed
  • Garlic – 5-6 flakes, crushed
  • Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
  • Red chilly powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Coconut oil – 1 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds – 1/4 tsp
  • Uradu dhal or Bengal gram – 1 tsp
  • Curry leaves – 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste

Method of Preparation:

  • Rub coconut grated with turmeric powder, red chilly powder, crushed garlic, cumin seeds with a pinch of salt and curry leaves, keep aside
  • Heat oil in a wide pan, add Uradu dhal or Bengal gram and let it brown in color and add mustard seeds
  • Stir in coconut mixture when mustard seeds start crackle
  • Stir in cabbage with salt to taste and sauté well until it is dry enough

Serve it rice or roti of your choice
