Bachelor’s special is  an easy to cook chicken curry recipe. Preparation time is amazingly low and the bachelors can get rid off the  usual hotel taste and try this,  surely you will enjoy my recipe.

Serves 4 – 6

Ingredients:

  • Chicken – 1 (800 gm)
  • potato – 3 medium(cubed)
  • tomato – 2 medium(cubed)
  • onion – 4 medium(finely sliced)
  • ginger – 1 tbsp(julienned)
  • garlic – 1 tbsp(julienned)
  • chilly powder – 1 tbsp
  • coriander powder – 11/2 tbsp
  • turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
  • pepper – 2 tsp
  • oil – 2 tbsp
  • coriander leaves – 2 tbsp(finely chopped)
  • curry leaves – 2 tbsp
  • salt to taste

Method Of Preparation:

  • Cut chicken into 1″ piece, wash and strain using a colander
  • add salt to taste, turmeric powder, half of the chilly powder and pepper and mix well and keep aside
  • heat oil in a wok/kadhai, saute ginger-garlic pieces till its raw smell disappears
  • add onion and fry till the oil separates
  • add chicken pieces and fry till the pieces become firm on medium heat
  • add the remaining chilly powder, coriander powder and pepper and fry for a minute on low heat
  • add cubed tomatoes,potatoes, curry leaves, salt to taste(if needed)  and 1 cup of water, cover and cook on medium
  • heat till the chicken pieces are done well
  • reduce the heat and cook on low heat without covering until the gravy thickens
  • add finely chopped coriander leaves, mix well and remove it from the fire
  • serve it hot with rice of your choice or chappatti
