One of the steps that I took to fight diabetes was to build muscles.
In the process of building muscles, I reduced my body fat percentage, got into good shape and health.
I am sharing my picture which was taken when I was not working out and my diabetes was out of control, this was about 5 years back and this is my recent picture compared with.
How do you see the change? I was only 63kg with more belly fat and now I am 72 with much less body fat.
Some information and the referenced details are provided in the description box below so that you can check it.
- Proportion of Muscle Mass in Your Overall Weight Has a Role in Cutting Diabetes Risk. The more muscle mass you have the less chance of diabetes
For each 10% increase in the skeletal muscle index (ratio of muscle mass to total body weight), there is an 11% reduction in insulin resistance and a 12% reduction in prediabetes.
The more muscle mass you have, the more glucose you can dispose of in response to insulin ,
To build and maintain muscles you need to work out regularly and with regular workouts, you improve blood circulation to different parts of your body.
Now this information is not just for people who are already diabetic, I would suggest youngsters above 30 to regularly work out and increase muscle mass and decrease body fat percentage
Please check with your doctor before you get into body building or start going to Gym if you have any other health issues.
