A comment by an Indian Student in Australia
Hi, I am in Sydney but Unfortunatelly the incident wasn’t reported by local media. It seems that from last 3-4 weeks Australian Media has determined not to give media mileage to such incidents to preserve their conuntry’s national & international reputation. Its not just Ausi media but a month before Australian Govt has invited 7 Journalist from India to wipe off the image damage they had in past 3 months. As a result Indian media has been stated that they didn’t feel that past incidents were Racial and Indian students and community is safe here. So its also shame on Indian media to support Australia for fulfilling their intentions. If these incidents won’t be locally highlighted then Indian community here it so busy to get updates from Indian media, so community attendance to these happenings would be minimum then what it should be. Agreed that Indian media has exaggerated to prostrate and publicize these incidents but its surely appreciated that Indian media is keep following up same so at least our people back in India will get clarity about what happening. Hence its been more essential here in Australia to be aware of each updates about Indian community, which is totally lacking. Thanks
