I am an Android Phone user. The inability to buy paid applications from Android Market for me makes me very un-happy. Even though I like Android Phones more than iPhone, the biggest problem is that I am not able to access professional applications because of the restriction to paid application in my region (India).

It’s not just me who is pissed off because of this restriction, but there are thousands of Android users signing petitions to enable paid applications for more countries.

Reports of Google talking to PayPal is a good news and hopefully things will work soon. Currently the Android Market payments are handled by Google Checkout.

Bloomberg is now reporting that Paypal and Google are in talks to suss out a better payment solution for Android device owners. These users “may be able to pay for apps with PayPal as soon as this year,” according to Bloomberg’s sources.

Britain’s “oldest smoker’, who puffed more than 170,000 cigarettes for over 95 years, has died a month short of her 103rd birthday, a media report said, quoting her family members. The great-great grandmother, Winnie Langley, who loved a good party, took her first puff, aged seven, after World War I started. However, she quit smoking last year as she could no longer see the end of a match.
